Delete an Absence

Deleting an absence varies depending on the status of the absence request. The following statuses are used in Cezanne:

Draft An absence which has not yet been submitted for approval and is still in your Tasks inbox.
Approval Pending An absence which has been submitted for approval but has not yet been approved / declined by your supervisor.
Approved / Declined An absence which has been approved / declined by your supervisor.

Based on the status of your absence, select the relevant instructions below to delete the absence:

'Draft' Absence

If the absence is in draft, you can delete it by clicking the task in your tasks inbox and selecting the Cancel Request button.

'Draft' Absence
'Approval Pending' Absence

If the absence has been submitted and is pending approval, you can delete it by clicking on the absence event and selecting the Unsubmit Request button and then selecting the Cancel Request button.

'Approval Pending' Absence

(Your supervisor will receive an e-mail to tell them that you have unsubmitted your request)

'Approved' / 'Declined' Absence

If the absence has already been approved / declined, you can delete it using the Absence Deletion Request process.

  1. Navigate to: Myself >> Absences
  2. Select the absence plan that contains the absence that you want to delete.

  1. Click on the relevant absence.
  1. Select Absence Deletion Request.

Note:

  • If you don't see the Absence Deletion Request button at the top of the screen, your HR team have not activated this process. In this case, you will need to contact them so they can delete the request for you.
  1. Click Submit Request for Deletion. Your request will be submitted to your supervisor for approval.

Note:

  • If your Absence Deletion Request is approved, the absence will still show in your absences list as 'Deleted' for a set number of days.
  • The number of days that Deleted Absences remain in your absences list is configured by your HR team. To find out how long absences will appear after the deletion request is approved, contact your HR team.
